Welcome to Canadiana Antique Furniture with painted and refinished Ontario, Quebec,
Canadian, American country furniture – repair, restore, refinish – buy, sell, trade, rent.
These three are among the finest pieces of antique furniture you will find with an Ontario/Cdn connection.
Although
the superb cherry slant top desk was probably made in America, it grew
up in Ontario along side the settlers that brought the circa 1800 desk
to the province. See plate 1319 in Pain's book for similar one.

The
Ontario made cherry and bird's eye maple over pine D-end table
according to Shackleton in 'The Furniture of Old Ontario' when
referring to plates 454 and 460 as probably coming from the same shop
described the tables as representing superior quality among Ontario
provincial furniture. This table, circa 1820, probably came from that
same shop. |
The
Mennonites of Waterloo County have a long history of making very
creative and functional furniture for their homes. They made this circa
1850 2 drawer cherry and maple peg top table, see Pain's book plate
858 for similar one, the top being secured to the base by removable pegs allowing
easier cleaning. |
